Why Photography?
I found photography through becoming a mother, I wanted to capture my children in their joy, their excitement, and even their sadness. I wanted to make long-lasting memories, to me, it feels like a gift to make and receive memories! My dad was a photographer, he took pictures for various motorbike rallies, back in the day, film, black and white, it all looked very fast and dangerous! After a while, he got a different job, but still continued to capture my twin sister and me through our childhood into our adolescence, we have albums upon albums. We still go through them to this day, sat huddled up together, talking and laughing about the sweet memories they evoke.
They are magic memories, holidays asleep in the golden sun curled up with my sister. Sat on a grassy verge wrapped up in mum’s arms, Face painted as Clowns in Cornwall with angry tears rolling down our cheeks; tangled red hair in the woodland with our family dog, holding the lead, beaming with pride. It goes on.
I am so glad I have those memories to look back on and now I can share them with my children.
